Dave Sucks

I hope you were all able to check out Dave’s 1st post earlier this week. I know I could not wait to read it and he did not disappoint. Let me get a few things straight when it comes to Dave’s taste in music. First of all I find it amusing that he calls his section “Dave’s More Rockin’”. I guess I need to start labeling my section “Nick’s More Quality”. The only problem with that is that Dave controls the website and he would never do that. The good news is that as we continue write our stories you will go to my section to get insightful, knowledgeable information and opinions on a wide variety of music. You will be able to read about everything from Bluegrass to Power Pop to Roots Rock and everything in between. On the other hand if you want to hear Dave compare the 3 bass players from Metallica or who is a better guitar player between Zack Wylde or Randy Rhoads then you should check out the “More Rockin’” side of Rock Minutes. The choice is yours.
I can sum up what Dave knows about music pretty easily for you. Dave likes Metal and it is not shocking that is what he wrote about. When Dave and I argue about music which is everytime we talk about music he likes to tell me that his bands can kick my my band’s asses. Now when he says that he is not talking about musically he means they would literally kick my bands asses in a fistfight. I am not sure you how you think about music but I rarely roll out of bed in the morning and wonder if Keith Richards could kick Ringo Starr’s ass or if Jack White would would defeat Bono in a steel cage match. I guess when you love metal that is how you think which by the way is pretty fucking stupid.
When I met Dave 10 years ago and we started discussing music I quickly realized we did “meet in the middle” as Dave likes to put it. We both liked Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, The Who, Alice in Chains and some others. I thought that was pretty cool and I might have stumbled up on someone that saw music the way I do. It did not take long for me to realize that this guy listened to some bullshit. It all started when he came in to work on Casual Friday wearing a Megadeth t-shirt. Who in the hell wears a Megadeth t-shirt to work on Casual Friday? I think to this day Dave is the only employee who has ever been reprimanded for wearing a Megadeth shirt to work. It gets worse. A few weeks later Dave tells me he needs to take the day off work so he can go see Marilyn Manson in concert. That is right I said Marilyn Manson. Has there ever been a more overrated artist that makes a living off of shock value than Brian Warner I mean Marilyn Manson? The only one I can think of that might come close is Alice Cooper and guess who loves Alice Cooper? You are right Dave loves Alice Cooper. By now I am thinking is there any way this guys taste in music can get any worse and he drops one hell of a bomb on me. He starts telling me how great he thinks The Insane Clown Posse is. I am not sure if you are familiar with The Insane Clown Posse but they are the 2 white guys who paint their faces like clowns and rap. Their fans are called Juggalos which means that my “more rockin’” partner is a Juggalo. This group also has some weird connection with the soft drink Faygo. I am not really sure what the story with that is but I am sure Dave will be writing about it soon.
I hope you all have a better idea of where Dave is coming from now that you have a little more information about him. Just remember not to ever talk shit about any of his bands because they will kick your ass or possibly offer you a Faygo. Before I go I wanted to post a link to a song that Dave loves. I am sure you will enjoy the song and I know it is definitely “More Rockin’”.

I appreciate you reading my post. You are right I did trash Dave and I enjoyed every minute of it. The fact that you read my post and felt compelled to write your opinion about it means I did my job. Thank you for the vote of confidence. It lets me know you think I am doing a a good job and it really gives me a warm feeling inside. By the way I hope you are not naive enough to think Dave has not trashed me. He has just not done it in this forum….yet. As far as getting a life do not expect that anytime soon. If I had a life to begin with I would not be doing this blog or wasting my time responding to you. Once again thank you for your support and please click on an advertisement while visiting our site.
In spite of your sarcasm-saturated response, the fact is I DO appreciate what you do here. Your opinions DO matter to me, or I wouldn’t waste time reading them…because I DON’T have a life, I get to be selective about what I waste my time doing. It’s just sad that you decided to waste MY time and yours trashing Dave ON this forum because his tastes differ from yours. I know as well as anyone that Dave’s no saint – behind you, he’s probably one of the most disagreeable human beings on the earth. But this forum, I THOUGHT, was about music. Not silly quibbling between its moderators. So trash Megadeth. Trash Steely Dan. Trash the music industry (Lord knows THEY deserve a good thrashing.) But if Rock Minutes becomes a back and forth between you and Dave, consider one of your three readers outskis…if I wanted that, I’d go to the Rat.
I think we’re up to 4 readers now. Anyway, this is just Nick’s little “hazing ritual” for my first post. Most of what he has done on the site has been very on par for what we hope to accomplish. As for the future, we plan on getting our jabs in on each other occasionally, but we also plan to be very music oriented. And the ribbing is just meant to give the readers, that don’t know us personally, an idea of how our relationship really is. I’m sure next Thursday Nick will have something riveting for you to read and due to your response I wouldn’t be surprised if instead of bashing me, he’s bashing Steely Dan. So stay the course faithful Rock Minutes follower. We are here for you, the fan.

I appreciate your feedback and I want you to rest assured this website will not become a Dave vs. Nick forum. I know you consider me a “hater” but you could not be further from the truth. My love of music is what inspired this website. I feel that I have already tried to turn you and the other 3 readers on to some new and different music in RM shuffle section. You can expect record reviews from artists that you have probably never heard of in the weeks to come as well as stories about a wide variety of topics. With all that being said the real question is did you click on an advertisement? If I am going spend my time writing inciteful responses to you I need to get paid more than 65 cents per week.
I haven’t yet clicked an advertisement yet, but I promise I will when one that actually interests me crosses my screen. Talk to the More Rockin’ side about that. Presently, there’s a Dashboard Confessional ad, a Grateful Dead and other jam bands merch ad, and one for some of Australia’s finest indie music. I can’t sully my browser with this trash.
PS, thanks for taking the time to respond. My heart’s all a’twitter.
