Nov 7, 2009 by Dave
Robert Zemeckis, director of Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and most recently Disney’s A Christmas Carol is revving up for production of his remake of Yellow Submarine. This project will be a return to his roots considering one of his earliest films was I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Zemeckis has reportedly reached out to the two surviving Beatles for roles in the movie. The Fab Four did not provide voices in the original but did, however, have a live action appearance at the conclusion of the film. This film will be produced in the same vain as Zemeckis’ most recent films such as Beowulf and the Polar Express and will utilize similar technology. Zemeckis told the MTV Movies Blog, “”I call it, ‘Yellow Submarine: The Digital Trip!’ ” Zemeckis is expected to write and direct, but don’t hold your breath, Yellow Submarine is not expected to emerge until 2012.
